Latest Updates in CBSE NEET 2018

  1. The authorities clarified that NEET 2017 will be counted as a first attempt for all candidates, irrespective of their previous attempts in AIPMT/NEET. A maximum of 3 attempts is allowed for every candidate to appear for NEET.
  2. NEET has replaced AIPMT and other regional/individual medical courses entrance examination since 2016, as per the directive of Supreme Court of India.
  3. The maximum age-limit to appear for NEET is 25 years. For SC/ST category there is a relaxation of 5 years.
  4. Urdu, Oriya and Kannada languages will be included in NEET 2018.
  5. CBSE has introduced a number of new NEET Exam Centers, owing to the increase in test-takers.
  6. Provision of an online portal by CBSE is now open so that all petitioners and non-petitioners can apply for the entrance exam.

NEET 2018 Registration form

As the registration for NEET exam 2018 will be started soon so here we have some detailed information regarding the registration form.

  • Firstly the candidates must go through the details carefully and then apply online.
  • Registrations can be done only in online mode, no need to send any hard copy to the CBSE office.
  • The registration for NEET 2018 will be started in last week of January 2018 and the due date to apply will be in 1st week of March 2018.
  • The candidates need to fill all the required details in the registration form.
  • The candidates must upload the scanned photograph and scanned signature during registration.
  • The candidates can initiate the registration fee via online mode (credit card/ debit card).
  • The candidates must keep the computer generated registration form for future use.

NEET 2018 Registration fee

The candidates who want to apply for NEET Entrance 2018 need to pay a registration amount of Rs. 1400/- (General/ OBS) and a registration amount of Rs. 750/- (SC/ST/PH) via online mode (credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ IMPS/ NEFT) etc.

NEET 2018 Eligibility criteria

  • The candidates who want to apply for NEET 2018 may belongs to India/ OCI/ PIO/NRI etc.
  • The candidate must be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years to apply for NEET Test 2018.
  • The candidate must be 12th or appearing in 12th with PCB as core subjects can apply for NEET 2018.
  • Candidates can appear for NEET Exam 2018 only 3 times.
  • The candidate must have 50% for general, 45% for PH and 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Adhaar card is mandatory to apply for NEET Entrance Exam 2018.

Tentative dates for NEET 2018

  • The registration will start from 4th week of January 2018 and the due date to apply will be in 2nd week of March 2018.

How to apply online for NEET 2018

  1. Initially you must visit the official website and then clicks on the option ‘online registration for NEET 2018’.
  2. Now you need to fill your qualification, personal and communication details in form.
  3. Now upload your scanned signature and scanned photograph in form.
  4. Now re check the details and initiate the registration amount via online mode.
  5. Now take the printout of computer generated form for future use.

NEET 2018 – FAQs

Ques. Can Foreign Nationals apply for NEET? What is the eligibility requirement?

Ans. Yes, Foreign National can apply for NEET 2018. Students applying as Foreign Nationals must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English in Class XII with 50% marks, as per regulations of the Medical Council of India and the concerned University.

Ques. Who can appear in NEET for 15% All India Quota Seats?

Ans. Candidates from the following categories can apply for NEET 2018?

  • Indian Nationals
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs)
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
  • Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear in NEET (UG)-2018 for 15% All India Quota Seats.

Ques. If a candidate is opting Oriya as a medium of question paper, would he be eligible for 15% All India Quota?

Ans. Candidates qualifying NEET would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State Governments/Institutes, irrespective of the medium in which the examination is taken by a candidate, subject to other eligibility criteria.

Ques. Against which all seats will the admission be made?

Ans. Admission will be made to the following seats through NEET 2018:

  • All India Quota Seats.
  • State Government Quota Seats
  • State/Private/Management/NRI Quota Seats in all Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private/ Deemed University
  • Central Pool Quota Seats

Ques. If I am opting Assamese as language of question paper, can I get the center of examination in Delhi? 

Ans. No. If any candidate is opting vernacular language as medium of question paper, he will be allotted center only in respective States of particular vernacular language. In the present case, examination center could be only in Assam.

Ques. Can I change the option of language once the form is submitted? 

Ans. Option once exercised, cannot be changed after submission of application form. As centers will be allotted based on medium of question paper, candidates need to be very careful in choosing of medium of question paper.

Ques. What are the duration/timings of NEET 2018?

Ans. The duration of NEET 2018 will be 03 hours i.e. from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. However, no entry will be allowed after 9.30 a.m.

Ques. If any candidate faces any problem in remittance of fee, to whom can he/she approach?

Ans. Candidates can approach the concerned Banks on contact numbers which are available on the website of NEET 2018.

Ques. Do I have to send my filled application form to CBSE?

Ans. The candidates are NOT REQUIRED TO SEND the print out of the Confirmation Page or any document (s) to the NEET Unit, CBSE.

Ques. Who will conduct the counselling for NEET?

Ans. For 15% All India Quota seats, counseling will be conducted by the DGHS. For seats under the control of States/Universities/Institutions, their respective authorities will conduct the counseling.

Ques. Can one see images of OMR sheets and Responses on website

Ans. The images of OMR Sheet and Responses captured by the machine will be displayed on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in. For exact date of hosting, candidates may remain in touch with the website.
